Tampa, Fla. - Going up against the second-ranked team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II on Saturday afternoon, the Barry University volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-17) at Tampa.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Set 1 - Tampa scored the opening three points of the afternoon and led for the entire first half, using a 4-0 run midway through the frame to pull ahead 19-13.
- Set 2 - The Spartans started the second set with four-straight points and quickly created a double-digit advantage at 13-3 while holding the Bucs without a run greater than three until a late 3-0 spree made it 19-7.Â
- Set 3 - Barry scored the initial point of set three and held onto the advantage until a 7-1 stretch by Tampa created a 10-5 score.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Diana Akopova paced the offense behind 11 kills while adding five digs and one assisted block.
- Varvara Osychenko added seven kills with six digs and a solo block.
- Fiona Baker dished out 22 assists on top of a team-high eight digs.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Buccaneers travel to Lynn on Tuesday, Oct. 31 with first serve set for 7 p.m.
