St. Leo, FL. - Fueled by a season-high .347 hitting percentage on Friday evening, the Barry University volleyball team swept host Saint Leo University 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-22) in Sunshine State Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set 1 - Barry used a 4-0 run to take an early 6-3 lead and held Saint Leo without a run of consecutive points until back-to-back tallies made it 18-11 in favor of the Bucs.
- Set 2 - Barry scored the opening point and maintained the lead until a 6-0 Saint Leo run flipped the advantage in favor of the hosts at 12-10. The Bucs reclaimed the lead behind a 3-0 run, using a 5-0 run trailing 17-16 to pull ahead 21-17.
- Set 3 - Facing an early 10-3 deficit in the this set, the Bucs rallied to take their first lead of the frame at 20-19 before adding another point to create a 21-19 score. Saint Leo flipped the one-point advantage behind a 3-0 run before Barry ended the night on a 4-0 run.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Diana Akopova boasted 18 kills on a .486 clip while adding seven digs, a service ace and solo block.
- Varvara Osychenko chipped in 11 kills with 10 digs that tied for the team lead.
- Fiona Baker dished out 26 assists with five digs and two service aces.
- Ana Perez tied for the team lead in digs with 10.
- Jeyhlen Thomas tallied a pair of solo blocks with one assisted block.
- Barry held Saint Leo to a .071 hitting percentage.
- Barry ended the night with seven blocks versus two for Saint Leo.
