MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – At the conclusion of the 2022 spring semester, 10 of the Barry University varsity athletic teams posted a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The Bucs earned their eighth consecutive NCAA President's Award in the fall. The award is presented to Division II member schools earning an Academic Success Rate of 90 percent or higher.
"It was a challenging and busy semester, but our student-athletes showed once again why they are champions in the classroom and in their respective sports. The Buccaneer women's soccer team led the way among the 12 sports teams with a 3.65 GPA. The men's tennis team brought home national championships, but also excelled in the classroom, had the highest grade point average among the men's teams (3.52). - 48 of the last 50 semesters (Fall 1996 – Spring 2022) cumulative GPA's of all Barry University student-athletes at 3.00 or higher.
- Barry University has 583 Academic and Scholar All-Americans in 11 different sports, including 45 this academic year.
- BarryU has had two National Academic All-Americans of the Year, one each in men's tennis and men's soccer.
- BarryU has five NCAA Elite 90 awards in four different sports.
- 6 Male Sunshine State Conference Scholar-Athletes of the Year (conference record)
