MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The top-seeded and ranked Barry Buccaneers blnaked the #1 Flagler Saints 4-0 at the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship at Sanlando Park on Wednesday to advance to the national semifinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The number two doubles team for Barry, Engelmann and Scholsen, ripped through the Saints Traub and Nissen 6-0.
- At number one, the third-ranked pair of Khazan and Bosnjak clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win over #8 Hrda and Schlagenhauf.
- In singles, the Bucs won the first sets of all six flights, before a lightning delay shut down play for over an hour.
- Before the delay, #26 Engelmann made quick work of Schlagenhauf 6-0, 6-0 and Bosnjak was almost as efficient, beating Brain 6-1, 6-1 at number five.
- Coming back out of the delay, Barry's Xiyao Wang, ranked #36, closed out the final point she needed to beat Traub 6-1, 6-2 at number three.
- The other matches went unfinished, though Khazan at number one and Farfan at number six were serving for the match.
NOTEWORTHY:
- For Barry, it is their fifth in a row and the 14th time overall to advance to the NCAA semifinals. They have 29 appearances and six national championships.
- The Bucs have now won 61 straight matches, the second-longest winning streak in program history. They won 69 in a row from the start of the 2017 season through the first 12 matches of 2019.
- It was the third time that the Bucs and Saints had met on the courts this year, with the Bucs winning all three. Overall, Barry is 16-0 against Flagler in women's tennis.
ON THE HORIZON
The Bucs will take on the winner of the #4 Nova Southeastern/#5 Hawai'i Pacific match at noon on Friday in the semifinals.
