HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Barry's Rodriguez and Gallego, the 21th-ranked duo in D-II, made short work of Braziewcz and Dorval 6-2 at number two doubles.
- Giuliato and Cazaban clinched the doubles point for the Bucs with a 6-2 win over Sacchi and Acuna at number three.
- At number one, Barry's 19th-ranked pair of Forcano and Gutierrez led 4-3 over the Fighting Scots Palombarini and Sabio in an unfinished match.
- In singles, the Bucs won the first sets of all six flights.
- After a lighting delay, Forcano quickly ripped through Dorval 6-0, 6-3 at number four.
- Gutierrez, made it 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Palombarini at number six.
- Giuliato, ranked #23, ended the match with a 6-2, 6-0 over Martins at number three.
- The other matches went unfinished.
NOTEWORTHY:
- For Barry, it is their fourth in a row and the 19th time overall to advance to the NCAA quarterfinals.
- Barry has won five national championships, including the last two in a row, and 26 appearances. The Bucs are currently fourth all-time in championships (Lander - 8; Southern Illinois-Edwardsville - 7, UC - Irvine - 6).
- Forcano leads the Bucs with 17 singles wins this season, followed by Rodgiuez (13) and Palacios (12).
- It was the first time that the Bucs and Fighting Scots had met on the courts.
