HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Barry's Moosbacher and Farfan, the fourth-ranked duo in D-II, made short work of Penalver Aguilo and Asterio Correa 6-0 at number three doubles.
- Englemann and Scholsen clinched the doubles point for the Bucs with a 6-1 victory over Carra and Geslin at number two.
- At number one, Barry's 3th-ranked pair of Khazan and Bosnjak led 3-3 over the Ravens' Mor and Loria, ranked #37 unfinished match.
- In singles, the Bucs won the first sets of all six flights.
- Farfan quickly ripped through Asterio Correa 6-0, 6-0 at number six.
- The top-ranked Khazan, made it 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Penalver Aguilo at number one.
- Engelmann, ranked #26, ended the match with a 6-0, 6-0 over Mor at number two.
- The other matches went unfinished.
NOTEWORTHY:
- For Barry, it is their fifth in a row and the 25th time overall to advance to the NCAA quarterfinals. They have 29 appearances and six National Championships.
- The Bucs have now won 60 straight matches, the second-longest winning streak in program history. They won 69 in a row from the start of the 2017 season through the first 12 matches of 2019.
- It was the second time that the Bucs and Ravens had met on the courts. The first time was last year at the quarterfinals of the 2021 NCAA Championship, with another 4-0 victory.
ON THE HORIZON
The Bucs will take on the No. 11 Flagler Saints in the quarterfinals of the NCAA DII Championship match on Wednesday, May 18. The Saints defeated St. Mary's 4-2 in the first round on Tuesday.
