MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers were swept 8-6 in 13 innings and 7-1 in their Sunshine State Conference baseball doubleheader with the the #21 Nova Southeastern Sharks at Feinbloom Field on Saturday.

- B3: Ihosvany Castaneda singled, stole second and scored on a base hit by Kevin Noriega. | Barry 1, NSU 0
- T5: Kolbe Aven singled leading off. Tyler Epstein bunted him over to second. Bryce Hazzard drove him in with a single. | Barry 1, NSU 1
- T6: The Sharks rallied with two outs. Aven doubled to left and Epstein beat out an infield single to short. The throw from David Vazquez was wild at first and Epstein advanced to second and Aven scored on the error. After a walk to Hazzard, Adam Frank double down the left field line, scoring both runners. | NSU 5, Barry 1
- B7: Barry regained the lead in the seventh. David Vazquez singled and Brandon Sanchez walked. Brady Neel drew another walk to load the bases and Branden Abreu beat out an infield hit and Sharks' shortstop Epstein also threw the ball away at first, allowing both Vazquez and Sanchez to score. Castaneda tripled to right, bringing both runners home and later scored on a squeeze bunt by Joe Stella. | Barry 6, NSU 5

- B12: Joe Stella led off with a ground rule double to left and Steven Torres looped a single into right. But pinch runner Elijah Eusebe had to hold up as right fielder Frank came charging in. After an intentional walk to Matthew Menendez, Sharks' releiver Michael Dillon (1-0) got the next three Bucs in order to preserve the tie.
- T13: The Sharks finally pushed across a pair in the 13th. Duncan Pastore drew a lead off walk and went to second on a wild pitch. Daniel Isriarri hit a bouncer to short and Vazquez tried to get Pastore at third, but he retreated and ended up safe at second, allowing Irisarri to reach as well. Adan Fernandez singled to drive in Pastore and Adam Smith knocked in Irisarri. | NSU 8, Barry 6

- T3: Epstein reached on an error and scored on a fly ball by Pastore. | NSU 1, Barry 0

- T8: The Sharks put up four runs in the eighth. Fernandez led off with a homer to left. Michael Avendano scored on a wild pitch by reliever Anthony Bennetti. Smith scored on a ground out and Justin Wachs scored on another error from Vazquez. | NSU 7, Barry 1
NOTEWORTHY:
- Dillon worked a season-high four innings in relief to get the win in game on. He scattered four hits and a walk and struck out two.
- Matt Ornelas walked one in an otherwise perfect inning to record his first save.
- Derek Cabrera (2-2) took the loss in the first game, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk in one inning.
- Omans went seven innings, allowing one run on two hits and a walk and striking out nine to earn the win in the night cap.
- Christian Lopez (1-1) didn't allow an earned run in six innings of work, but took the loss.

The Bucs host the Eckerd Tritons next weekend in their final home games of the season.
