ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers split a non-conference baseball doubelheader with the Eckerd Tritons, losing the first game 12-2 before bouncing back with a 11-10 win in the rubber game.

- T9: The Bucs, who scored four in the top of the ninth in game one to take the opener, did it again in the top of the ninth in the runner game. With one out, Baldo singled and Torres doubled to put runners at second and third. Pinch hitter Sebastian Garrido brought in both runners with a single through the right side and Eddie Javier, Jr. came on to run for him. Blanco knotted the game at 10-10 with a double to center, scoring Javier and took third on the throw. Eusebe drove in the game-winner with a sacrifice fly to center. | Barry 11, Eckerd 10
- B9: Danny Vaquez came in to nail down the win by retiring the Tritons in order in the ninth, including a strike out of Cox to end the game.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Torres led the Bucs at the plate, going 4-for-8 in the twinbill, with a double and an homer. He scored three runs and drove in one.
- Blanco also had a homer and double and drove in two.
- Socorro, who had two double, led the team with three RBI.
- Derek Cabrera (1-1) picked up the in in nightcap, tossing three innings and allowing a run on three hits and a walk, while striking out three.
- Vazquez earned his first save with a perfect ninth, striking out two.
- Anthony Bennetti (0-4) took the loss in the opener. He allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits in four innings.
- Jake Andriole (1-1) went six innings in the opener for the win for Eckerd. He allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks and struck out four. Ben Waxler worked the final three innings to earn his second save. He held the Bucs to a hit and a walk and struck out five.Â
- Troy Dunnam (1-1) was tagged with the loss in the nightcap. He allowed two runs on two hits in 0.2 innings.
