Hart-Pomerantz Signs To Danish Pro League

Maddie Hart-Pomerantz signs pro contract

ODENSE, Denmark--Barry University senior Maddie Hart-Pomerantz was one of two American players to sign with Odense Q in the Danish professional league. She joins center-back Sydney Genatempo from Marian University in Indiana.

"We are really happy that Maddie and Sydney have agreed to help us for the rest of the spring," Odense board chairman Rene Hansen said. "Throughout the winter and Christmas, we have been looking for a goalkeeper and a center-back who can both increase the competition on the team. With the addition of these two, we get exactly the competition in the squad that allows us to be stronger in the qualifying game "

Hart-Pomerantz started in goal for the Bucs in 2019 and 2021, with the 2020 season canceled due to CoVID. She also saw time between the pipes in 2017 and 2018. For her career, she went 17-11-2, with a 1.08 goals against average and 12 shutouts. She posted an 80.8 save percentage. He ranks fifth in program history in saves per game (3.97) and seventh in overall saves (143). Her wins, goals against average and save percentage all rank in the Top-10 all-time for the Bucs. As a junior in 2019, she was named to the Second-Team All-Sunshine State Conference. An outstanding student, she was also a member of the SSc Commissioner's Honor roll all four years.

She joins Christy Grimshaw and Molly Sharpe as Bucs currently playing professionally. Grimshaw is with AC Milan, while Sharpe is with Crystal Palace. Grimshaw also has nine caps with the Scottish national team.
