ST. LEO, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers lost the final game of their Sunshine State Conference baseball series in Saint Leo, falling to the Lions 12-8 on Sunday, Mar. 13.

- T1: Omar Baldo singled to left field and Ihosvany Castenda doubled in the following at-bat to put the Bucs on the board first. | Bucs 1, Lions 0
- B1: Buck Anderson doubled in the leadoff spot for the Lions and Bobby Sparling smacked a home-run over the right field fence one at-bat later to take the lead. Next, Adrien Roa drew a walk followed by a double into left field by Eddie Niemann. Mike Wyman smacked a single in the next at-bat to bring the duo home and put the Lions up by three runs. | Lions 4, Bucs 1
- B2: Mike Reagan relieved Anthony Boix to start the inning. Yazael Nunez smacked a single and advanced to second on a throwing error. Sparling came up big for the Lions again, smacking a single to bring home Nunez. | Lions 5, Bucs 1

- T6: Barry put the pressure on the Lions in the sixth inning, beginning with Sebastian Garrido who found his to third base after drawing a walk, advancing to second on a wild pitch and moving to third on a groundout from David Vasquez. Brandon Sanchez smacked a single to right field to bring Garrido home and then Brandon Abreau doubled to left field to move Sanchez to third. Omar Baldo batted into a groundout to the shortstop and Sanchez scored on the play with Abreu moving to third. Castenda would proceed to blast a homer over right field to tie up the ball game. | Tied 7-7
- B6: The Lions got revenge quickly, scoring a pair of runs on a single from Niemann. | Lions 9, Bucs 7
- B7: A solo-homer from Tyler Trovinger made it a three-run lead for the Lions. Later in the inning, a triple from Sam Crail brought home Anderson who reached on a walk. Sparling once again came up with an RBI, smacking a single to center field to score Crail. | Lions 12, Bucs 7
- T9: Joe Stella tripled to left field and was brought home on a single from Jose Tabares but the lead was too big of a hill to reclaim for the Bucs. | Lions 12, Bucs 8
NOTEWORTHY:
- Nick Jennings (2-0) earned the win in relief for the Lions. He allowed two runs on three hits and two walks in 3.0 innings.
- Trevor Baker (1-1) took the loss for the Bucs, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks over the final three innings.
- Castenda had a standout outing for Barry, smacking three hits in five at-bats to record three RBI and a homerun.
- Sparling went a scorching 4-for-4 at the plate to record six RBI for the Lions.
