MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers opened the 2022 season with a 14-5 loss to the Tusculum Pioneers at Feinbloom Field on Friday night.

NOTEWORTHY:
- Mike Reagan (0-1) was hung with the loss for the Bucs. He allowed eight runs (six earned) on eight hits and three walks in two plus innings.
- Becker (1-0) got the win in the split game, tossing four innings and allowing just one unearned run on three hits and a walk. He struck out six.
- Abreu went 4-for-5 to lead Barry at the plate. Baldo drove in two of the Bucs five runs.
- Every Pioneer recorded a hit and scored a run in the game. All but leadoff hitter Rudy Fernandez drove in at least one run. Keener and Steagall each had three RBI.
