MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry's softball team dropped a doubleheader to the Florida Tech Panthers on Saturday 5-3 and 1-0 in the final two games of their Sunshine State Conference series at Buccaneer Field.

Game 1
- T4: After a close pitching duel in the early innings, the Panthers broke the game open with three runs in the fourth. Cheyenne Nelson led off with a double and scored when the Bucs tried to get her at home on a ground ball by Ella Gibson, but Nelson beat the throw. Alex Hendrian doubled down the right field line to drive in two runs. | FT 3, Barry 0
- T5: After another Nelson double, Jolie Miracle knocked her in with a single through the right side. | FT 4, Barry 0
- B5: Payton Germer created a run for the Bucs in the bottom of the frame. She singled, stole second and later scored on a fly ball by Cassandra Lee. | Tech 4, Barry 1
- T6: Mikayla Wessel drove in pinch runner Peyton Anders with a single to left, but was nailed trying to stretch it to a double. | FT 5, Barry 1
- B6: Barry rallied for a pair of ruins in the sixth on a two-run double by Sofia Chamorro, but Hendrian came on in relief to get the last two outs for her second save. | FT 5, Barry 3

- T3: Wessel scored the only run of the game on the back end of a double steal with Nelson in the third inning. | FT 1, Barry0
NOTEWORTHY:
- Hendrian (2-1) earned a win in the second game, after getting the save in the first. She shut out the Bucs on two hits and a walk and struck out two.
- Lee (2-3) took the loss in game one for Barry, allowing three runs on three hits and a walk in 3.2 innings.
- Maci Barnhart (5-2) was the tough-luck loser in game two, surrendering just the one run on three hits and a walk.
