MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The 17th-ranked Barry Buccaneers came up short in overtime 104-98 against a tough Tampa Spartans team on Saturday, Jan. 15.

- 1H - Landon Kirkwood kicked off the scoring efforts for the Bucs, nailing back-to-back triples to open the game. Kirkwood had 11 points on 4-6 shooting in the first half. Barry dominated the battle of the boards in the first half, out-rebounding the Spartans 24-16 led by Justinas Marcinkevicius who had seven boards and eight points at halftime. - 2H - Tampa came out of the gates hot, ripping off an 11-3 run to shave the Bucs lead down to a single point with 17:04 to go. After some back-and-forth action, Tampa took the lead 63-60 on a Max Jones three-pointer. The two teams exchanged haymakers until Barry looked to pull ahead with a Marcinkevicius second-chance bucke with 2:12 left, only for Tampa's Derrick Felder to drain a three on the ensuing possession. Jones would tie things up for the Spartans at the 1:28 mark and neither team would score another point the rest of regulation. | Tied 88-88

NOTEWORTHY:
- Marcinkevicius was solid inside for the Bucs, recording 21 points on 10-16 shooting, to go along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
- The Bucs had their second-best game of the season from three-point territory, shooting 55% from distance.
