PENSACOLA, Fla. -- They say it's hard to beat a team three times in the same season, but on Saturday afternoon the Buccaneers did just that to Saint Leo with a 4-1 victory during the 2021 NCAA South Regional Tournament.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP
Barry (9-0, SSC Automatic Qualifier)
Saint Leo (9-3, At-Large Bid)
Series: Barry leads 38-2 and have won the last five in a row. Barry leads 8-0 in neutral site matches.
The Bucs (9-0) lost the doubles point last week against the Lions during the SSC Tournament, but avenged that loss with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to jump out to a 1-0 lead. Saint Leo however, stormed right back and took No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-2. Barry then took control of the match, wrapping things up by winning flights one, three and five. The Buccaneers advance to the Championship match tomorrow at 11am against the host, West Florida.
