MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers split a Sunshine State Conference baseball doubleheader with the Lynn Knights on Saturday at Feinbloom Field, winning game one 9-2, but dropping the night cap 7-3.

GAME ONE:
- B1 - The Bucs pounced early on the Knights. Andrew Rapoza singled to left and Willie Escala drew a walk. Ihosvany Casteneda dropped a bunt single down the third-base line to load the bases. JC Garcia was hit by Lynn starter Eric Heatter to force in one run. Derek Smolenski stroked a two-run single through the left side to plate another couple runs. Garcia scored and Smolenski advanced to third when left fielder Thursal White misplayed the ball. Blake Brito capped the inning by bouncing a single up the middle to score Smolenski. | Barry 5, Lynn 0
- T5 - The Knights chopped two runs off the lead in the fifth. Peter Avino singled to left and Brandon Kruzinski dropped down a bunt single to start the frame. Two outs later, Anthony Sanabria stroked a single to center to bring them both in. | Barry 5, Lynn 2
- B5 - The Bucs got the runs back and then some in the bottom of the frame. Casteneda launched a double to left over the head of White with one out. Garcia roped a single to center to score him. Garcia stole second and scored ahead of a double by Smolenski, who promptly stole third and scored when catcher Avino threw the ball away at third. - T1 - It was a talke of two games as the Knights jumped all over Barry starter Arrison Perez in game two. Jeff Buckley reached on an error and scored after back-to-back singles by Branden Forchic and Davis Payne. Trevor Romeo launched a RBI to deep left center to score Forchic. Christian Larson hit a three-run homer to left and Joseph Rosselli followed with a solo shot to left-center. | Lynn 6, Barry 0
- B1 - Escala singled to right center and stole second. Richie Sobalvarro shot a single to right to bring him home. | Lynn 6, Barry 1
- B3 - Casteneda walked, stole second and scored with Sobalvarro slapped another single through the right side. | Lynn 6, Barry 2
- T6 - Pedro Martinez bounced a single up the middle and came around to score on a base hit by Kruzinski. | Lynn 7, Barry 2
- B7 - Brito singled with one out and Ariel Diaz came on to run. Diaz stole second and Escala cashed him in wth a base hit to right. | Lynn 7, Barry 3
NOTEWORTHY:
- Micheal Reagan (2-2) worked six innings in game one for the win. He gave up two runs on five hits and a walk and struck out eight.
- Heatter (1-5) took the loss for the Knights. In 4.2 innings, he allowed nine runs (six earned) on nine hits and two walks.
- Arrison Perez (4-2) went six innings to take the loss in the nightcap. Hgave up seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits and a walk and strukc out seven.
- Chris Mormile (2-5) worked six innings with two runs to earn the win. He gave up five hits, a walk and and hit batter and struck out five.
- The Bucs and Knights each had 18 hits in the twinbill.
- Smolenski, Casteneda and Sobalvarro each had three hits in the doubleheader. Smolenski drove in three runs, while Casteneda scored three.

The Bucs are off until Saturday, May 8 when they face the Saint Leo Lions in a makeup doubleheader at 2:00 pm.
