MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Buccaneers split a double-header at home against the number six-ranked team in the country, the Saint Leo Lions. Barry came up short in game one, losing 3-0, but answered the bell with a 6-3 victory on Buccaneer Field during game two.

Game One
- T1 - The Lions got on the board right away, scoring a run with two outs. Buccaneer starting pitcher Maci Barnhart hit two Lion batters and gave up a single to score the runner from second. | SLU 1, Barry 0
- B3 - Barry had their best opportunity to get on the board after Taylor Checkley singled, stole second and then stole third. Kaylin Donovan walked to give Barry runners on the corners with one out, but back-to-back strikeouts would fizzle out the inning for the Buccaneers. | SLU 1, Barry 0
- B5 - The Lions picked up two more insurance runs on an error and a fielders choice. | SLU 3, Barry 0
Game Two
- T1 - A pair of Barry errors gave the Lions the early lead in game two | SLU 2, Barry 0
- B1 - The Buccaneers came right back and got on the board with a Payton Germer single down the left field line to score Maggie Wheless. After Maddy Graham was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Skylar Jenkins was also hit by pitch and scored Barry's second run of the inning. Ayana Andrade-Zygmunt singled through the left side and appeared to blow the game open, but Erin Scanlon was called out at home to end the inning | Barry 3, SLU 2
- B4 - After a single by Andrade-Zygmunt and walk by Donovan, Barry had runners on with one out. Wheless smashed a ball to left center scoring two runs | Barry 5, SLU 2
- B6 - Freshman Taylor Thompson singled up the middle for her second hit of the game. Checkley would score, but Barry had their second runner called out at the plate to end the inning | Barry 6, SLU 3
- T7 - Barnhart came in relief of Cassandra Lee to pickup her first career save.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Barnhart finished the day with eight innings of work allowing just one earned run with opposing hitters batting .115 against the freshman from Sebring, Fla.
- Barry had three players with multi-hit games in game two; Thompson, Andrade-Zygmunt and Checkley.
- Lee started in the circle for the Bucs in game two and was very impressive in six innings of work recording seven strikeouts and allowing just four hits on three runs -- only one being earned.
ON THE HORIZON:
