MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Buccaneer softball team benefitted from fantastic pitching and timely hitting to come up with two victories over Florida Tech at home on Buccnaneer Field on Wednesday. The Bucs took game one 5-2 thanks to 4 2/3 of no-hit softball from freshman Macy Barnhart. One run was enough in game two to sweep the double-header as Barry came out on top 1-0.

Game One
- B3 – Ayana Andrade-Zygmunt was hit on a pitch by the FT pitcher to lead the inning. Courtney Chisholm followed that up with an infield base-hit. Maggie Wheless recorded her second hit of the game on a bunt single to load the bases for Barry. Payton Germer walked to score Andrade-Zygmunt and give Barry the lead. Maddy Graham singled on a bunt and drove in Chisholm. Taylor Thompson's RBI single added another run for the Bucs, but Germer was thrown out at the plate to end the inning. | Barry 3, FT 0
- T5 - Barnhart lost a no-hitter with two outs in the fifth. FT would pick up a pair of runs on a hit and an error by the Bucs. | Barry 3, FT 2
- B5 - The Bucs put two runs back on the board using the small ball that Coach Cotter loves to play. The first run was scored on a throwing error by the Panthers and then Cotter called for a double-steal with Angel Villanueva scoring the run.| Barry 5, FT 2
Game Two
- B1 - Wheless reached base after being hit by the FT pitcher and then stole second. Germer singled down the right field line to score Wheless and give Barry the only run they needed for the victory | Barry 1, FT 0
- T7 - After six shutout innings by Cassandra Lee, Barmhart came in relief to shut the door on the Panthers and pick up her second save of the season. Lee had FT batters hitting ground ball after ground ball to improve her record to 2-3
NOTEWORTHY:
- Barnhart earned her first career college victory in game one. The freshman tossed seven innings, allowing just two runs, one earned on two hits and punched out six Panthers.
- The first three batters in the Buc' lineup recorded five of the teams nine hits in game one.
ON THE HORIZON:
