Softball Falls to No. 6 Rollins in Double-Header on The Road

Only game one of the double-header counts as a conference game

WINTER PARK, Fla. -- The Buccaneers faced a tough opponent on Friday when they took on the number six-ranked Rollins Tars in Winter Park. The is the second consecutive series against a top-ten program in the country as the Bucs took on Saint Leo last week. Barry dropped game one 8-0 in five innings and fell in game two 4-0.

SUMMARY:
Game One

  • B1 - Macy Barnhart gave up her first college home run to give the Tars an early lead | RC 1, Barry 0
  • T4 - The Bucs had their first nine batters retired in order. The second time through the lineup saw Kaylin Donovan and Berlin Colvin record back-to-back singles. However, both runners were left on base with the following three batters unable to reach base | RC 5, Barry 0
Game Two
  • B1- Cassandra Lee started game two for the Bucs, but struggled to find the strike zone walking four straight Tar batters to give Rollins the lead | RC 1, Barry 0
  • T2 - The Buccaneers were threatening to score with runners on second and third, one out. Ayana Andrade-Zygmunt hit a ground ball back to the pitcher in which the Tars threw home and tagged out Erin Scanlon trying to score on the play | RC 1, Barry 0
NOTEWORTHY:
  • In game two, Barry left runners on base in five of the seven innings. 
  • Jillian Rodriguez came in relief for the Bucs in game two, throwing two scoreless innings. 
  • Savannah Starling went 3-for-4 in game two. It is the first three-hit game for a Buccaneer this season.
