MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Buccaneers suffered their first loss of the season against Florida Southern 104-87 at the Health & Sports Center on Saturday afternoon. Senior Jake Kakar led all Barry scorers with 26 points.

SUMMARY:
- The Bucs went toe-to-toe with Florida Southern for 34 minutes, even taking a one point lead after a Marcelo Perez layup made it 83-82. However, the Mocs then went on a 16-0 run to make it 97-82 with 2:39 left in the game. Obviously, the Mocs offensive attack presented problems for the Bucs as FSC scored over 100 points and shot 59 percent from the field. The Bucs were crushed on the boards 50-32 and paint points 46-32. However, Barry was able to take care of the ball (10 turnovers) and force 24 turnovers while scoring 20 points off those turnovers.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Justinas Marcinkevicius recorded his third straight double-double to start the season -- 12 points, 10 rebounds.
- Florida Southern's Brandon Carroll scored 33 points. The most scored by an opponent since Luka Majstorovic (ERAU) scored 37 on Febrauary 8th, 2020.
