MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneer men's basketball team opened the season with a solid 91-80 road win over Albany State on Friday, Nov. 12.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"It's great to be back playing again," said head coach
Butch Estes, "It was a great environment with a huge crowd and we were able to hold off a really good team. We built up a pretty good lead and had five guys in double figures. I was pleased with our rebounding but a little bit disappointed in our defense and our execution down the stretch. It was a tough game and it's going to be tough again tomorrow."
NOTEWORTHY:
- The Bucs dominated the rebounding battle 34-22.
- Michael Schaefer had his way down low, leading the Bucs with 21 points including a 11-15 mark from the free-throw stripe.
- James Montgomery recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
- All in all, five Bucs scored in double figures(Schaefer, Montgomery, Marcelo Perez, Toru Dean, and Jake Kakar).
