INSIDE THE MATCHUP
Final: Barry 100, Albany State 92
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"To be able to go on the road and beat a team as good as they are is a solid way to start the season for us," said head coach
Butch Estes, "
Michael Schaefer was steady all weekend and
Nick Anderson showed what he can do tonight as a shooter. It was also great to see Justinas [Marcinkevicius] bounce back and put up a solid game after being in foul trouble last night. Milon [Sheffield] came in off the bench and made some huge plays for us down the stretch including the deep three with 14 seconds left that put us ahead for good. Now we look forward to Florida Southern who's a very tough conference opponent. As always our goal is just to keep improving every week and play the best basketball we can."
NOTEWORTHY:
- Barry once again had a solid all-around team effort in the scoring department with six Bucs (Toru Dean, Jake Kakar, Justinas Marcinkevicius, Schaefer, Landon Kirkwood, and Anderson) scoring in double-figures.
