MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barry Buccaneers lost to the Moccasins of Florida Southern 3-1 in Sunshine State Conference volleyball action on Friday night. Florida Southern dropped the first set to the Bucs 25-23 then the Mocs went on to win the following three sets 28-25, 25-21, 25-21.

SUMMARY:
- 1st set | The Bucs opened the match strong scoring two quick points off an attack error and a kill by Djuly Schmorantz, the Bucs did not let up on Florida southern going on to total 17 kills in the set. Barry ulimately won the set off a majestic kill from Bianca Paşca. | Barry 25, FSC 23
- 2nd set | The Mocs went on a 5-0 run to begin the set. Barry trailed for most of the set but managed to close the gap at 21-21. The Bucs showed grit but lost the set off a pair of kills from Florida Southern. | FSC 28, Barry 26
- 3rd set | Flordia Southern hit .375 for the set, tied 11-11 the Bucs lost control of the set trailing by as much as nine, before dropping the set to the Moccasins. | FSC 25, Barry 21
- 4th set | The Bucs had some fight left, keeping up the score with the Mocs tight, but it wasn't enough as they lost the match off a kill from Tierra Porter. | FSC 25, Barry 21
NOTEWORTHY:
- Bianca Paşca led the way for the Bucs with 10 kills, 20 digs, 25 assists and one service ace.
- Djuly Schmorantz had a solid night for the Bucs leading the team in kills with 16.
- The Bucs had four players in double digit digs, led Paşca led with 20, followed by Mónica López with 19, Schomorantz with 12 and Jennifer Collazo with 10.

The Bucs will now take on Tampa Spartans on Saturday, Oct. 30th at 4pm in the Health & Sports Center.
