MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- On a day that included three games at Buccaneer Field, the Barry softball team took down the West Liberty Hilltoppers 7-4 and fell to the Kutztown Bears 7-0 on Monday. The third game was between Kutztown and West Liberty.

SUMMARY:
Game One
- B1 - Kayla Posten led off the inning with a walk followed by a Taylor Checkley base hit. Berlin Colvin grounded out and moved the runners to second and third. After a Payton Germer strikeout, Michelle Roldan reached on a throwing error by the Hilltopper shortstop that allowed two runs to score and give Barry an early lead | Barry 2, WLU 0
- B3 - Jordyn Petty's two-out base hit to center field scored two runs for the Bucs and extended their lead to four | Barry 4, WLU 0
- B6 - Checkley recorded her third hit of the game on a ground ball through the left side that drove in another run for the Bucs | Barry 7, WLU 0
- T7 - Cassandra Lee was cruising through the first six innings allowing no runs on six hits until the seventh when the Hilltoppers scored four runs on three hits. However, all four runs would go unearned.
Game Two
- B6 - Despite having two hits through six innings, the Kutztown pitcher had faced the minimum due to runners being thrown out in both the instances that Barry reached base | KU 7, Barry 0
- B7 - The Buccaneers loaded the bases with a walk from Peyton Rawls and hits from Checkley and Ashlee Klinefelter -- who pinch hit for Jordanna Hartley, but left the runners stranded | KU 7, Barry 0
NOTEWORTHY:
- Checkley went 4-of-7 for the day with three RBI and a stolen base
- In her last four appearances, Lee is 2-0 with a 2.62 ERA in 16 innings of work
ON THE HORIZON:
