MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The 15th-ranked Barry Buccaneers saw their nine-game winning streak end with a 3-2 loss in 10 innings to the Nova Southeastern Sharks on Saturday at Feinloom Field.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Barry starter Myles Gayman turned in a masterful performance, but did not figure in the decision. Through seven innings, he had allowed only two hits and a walk, while striking out three. In the eighth, he allowed two more hits and got two outs before being relieved by Arevalo. He threw 107 pitches, 85 for strikes.
  • Lucas Reid (1-0), the fifth pitcher of the game for the Sharks, got the win. In 1.1 innings, he allowed a run on two hits. Matt Kavanaugh got the final two outs on the double play for his first save.
  • Perez (0-1) took the loss for the Bucs. He allowed two runs on three hits and two walks, with three wild pitches in the 10th inning.
  • The loss snapped the Bucs school-record nine-game winning streak to start the season.
