MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The 15th-ranked Barry Buccaneers turned in a dominating performance in their Sunshine State Conference baseball opener against the Nova Southeastern Sharks, winning 10-3 at Feinbloom Field on Friday night.

- T6 - The Sharks finally scratched across a pair of runs in the sixth. Stephen Schissler chopped a single on the left side and Tyler Epstein sent a ball through the right side. - B6 - The Bucs got the runs back in the bottom of the inning. Garcia laced a ball down the right field line that got past a diving Schissler and rolled to the wall for a triple. NOTEWORTHY:
- Frank II Gonzalez (3-0) earned the win with six innings work. He gave up two runs on six hits and struck out six without issuing a walk.
- The two runs for Gonzalez were the first allowed by a rotation starter this season. They were also the first runs that he allowed to NSU in two career starts.
- Williams took the loss for NSU. He gave up five runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk in 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
- Cabrera led the Bucs at the plate. He was 3-for-5 with two runs and four RBI.
- Garcia also was 3-for-5 and scored twice. Rapoza was 3-for-6 with two runs. Escala was 2-for-3 with two walks and scored three times.
- Fernandez led the Sharks, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Pastore had two hits and two runs.
