SUMMARY:
Game One

  • T1 -  Courtney Chisholm was originally ruled out on batters interference trying to avoid the ball on her way to first, but after the umpires gathered they put her back on first and she was awarded a base hit. Unfortunately for the Bucs, that would be their last hit of the night as UNG's starting pitcher Smith retired the next 21 Buccaneer hitters | Barry 0, UNG 0
  • T5 - Cassandra Lee got the start for Barry and was marvelous inside the circle for the Buccaneers. The freshman gave up her only earned run of the game in this inning after Simmons blasted a home run over the left field fence to give the Hawks the lead | UNG 1, Barry 1

SUMMARY:
Game Two

  • T4 - The Hawks used a four run inning to take the lead over the Bucs with Jordanna Hartley in the circle for Barry. Simmons recorded her second home run of the day to score three runs for North Georgia | UNG 4, Barry 0
  • T6 - Forehands RBI double gave the Hawks an insurance run they would not need with Chambers throwing six scoreless innings | UNG 5, Barry 0
NOTEWORTHY:
  • Lee went toe-to-toe with Smith who was very impressive for the Hawks and already has a decorated four-year career with UNG. Lee went seven innings, allowing two runs -- one earned -- on six hits.
  • Hartley struggled to throw strikes, giving up seven walks, but held UNG to five hits.
