Embry-Riddle Comes From Behind to Take Game One from Softball

There is rain expected tomorrow during the double-header. Currently, game one is expected to start at 1pm, but may be moved to 2pm.

MIAMI SHORES, FLA. -- The Buccaneers led 4-2 headed into the fifth inning, when Embry-Riddle put up a three run inning to take the lead and didn't look back, Barry fell in game one of the Sunshine State Conference series against the Eagles 10-5 at Buccaneer Field on Friday night.

SUMMARY:

  • T1 - The Eagles took the lead in the first inning after a passed ball by Payton Germer put a runner on second. Drayton singled up the middle for ERAU and drove in the run | ERAU 1, Barry 0
  • B2 - Payton Germer led off the inning with a walk and stole second. After a pair of outs, Peyton Rawls delivered a clutch RBI double to tie the game. After Karla Santiago was hit by a pitch, Savannah Starling reached when the Eagles first baseman dropped the throw from the shortstop with runners on first and second. Rawls scored on the play from the second, then the ERAU first basemen threw over to second attempting to throw out Starling and Santiago scored the third run of the inning for the Bucs | Barry 3, ERAU 1
  • B3 -  After ERAU picked up another run, Taylor Checkley tripled over the left fielders head and was driven in on a bloop single by Cassandra Lee | Barry 4, ERA 2
  • T5 - With Lee still in the circle for the Bucs, ERAU would rally to take the lead with three runs on four hits | ERAU 5, Barry 4
  • B6 - Courtney Chisholm drove in a run with a base hit to the shortstop | ERA 10, Barry 5
NOTEWORTHY:
  • Checkley recorded her first triple of the season, going 2-for-4 with a stolen base.
