ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. -- The Buccaneers dropped game one of a three games series against Eckerd on the road to open up the 2020 Sunshine State Conference schedule. Barry came up short to the Tritons 6-2 at the Turley Sports Complex. Game two will begin at 12pm tomorrow with game three set to start approximately 30 minutes after.

- T1 - Barry had an opportunity to take the lead right away when Courtney Chisholm singled and then stole second. Berlin Colvin was unable to give the Bucs the lead when she grounded out to third base, but allowed Chisholm to advance to third. Payton Germer grounded out in the following at-bat to leave Chisholm stranded at third | EC 0, Barry 0
- T3 - Singles by Chisholm and Taylor Checkley with two outs gave the Bucs a chance to get on the scoreboard down two runs. Each runner advanced a base when the Eckerd starting pitcher threw a wild pitch setting the table for Colvin with runners on second and third, but the Bucs would squander the opportunity with runners in scoring position | EC 2, Barry 0
- B4 - Bucs starting pitcher Sarah Johnson had to come out of the game after 3.2 innings of work when she stumbled during her windup. She gave up four runs on eight hits to the Tritons before Cassandra Lee replaced her in the circle | EC 4, Barry 0
- T5 - The leadoff runner reached base when Ayana Andrade-Zygmunt was plunked by the Triton pitcher. She would advance to second during Savannah Starling's at-bat and scored when Chisholm reached base on a throwing error by the Tritons. Cassandra Lee picked up her first hit of the season with an RBI double to left field and cut the Eckerd lead in half | EC 4, Barry 2
NOTEWORTHY:
- Chisholm, Germer and Kayla Posten each recorded multiple hits against the Tritons. Germer and Posten are hitting over .500 on the season while Posten is hitting .333
- Chisholm recorded her seventh stolen base of the season in eight attempts. The seven stolen bases rank second among all SSC players.
