Men's Hoops Wins Ninth Straight With 91-89 victory over PBA

The Bucs beat the Sailfish for the first time since the 2014-2015 season

23WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The 14th-ranked Buccaneers added another solid win to their season, knocking off the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish 91-89 on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Rubin Arena.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:

SUMMARY:

  • The game began in Palm Beach Atlantic's favor with the Sailfish amassing a 20-10 lead just under six minutes into the contest. Jake Kakar logged 12 points in the half on five-of-seven shooting from the field with two buckets from downtown. 
  • The Bucs rallied back and were able to cut the lead down to two points with three minutes to play in the half.
  • Point guard David Moya caught fire in the second half sinking a triple right out the locker room on his way to recording 16 points in the period capped off by his game-sealing trip to the free throw line. The senior finished with 23 points.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Kakar finished with 17 points while Tylan Birts chipped in 18 in addition to Johannes Dolven's 17.
  • Dolven also recorded a season high 13 rebounds
