MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers dropped their women's soccer home opener to the Tusculum Pioneers 2-0 at Buccaneer Field on Friday night.

SUMMARY:

• 58:26 - Tina Haig knocked the first goal after Brooke Radcliffe crossed the ball in from the right wing. The pass skipped off a defender's head and dropped right to Haig's feet. 
• 89:53 - Chelsea Sheerin swiped the ball from Barry keeper Rose Hemans and defender Karla Wolstenholme after a moment of miscommunication just outside the box and scored in the empty net.

NOTEWORTHY:

• Barry out-shot the Pioneers 14-8, though Tusculum put seven of eight on goal to five for the Bucs.
• Cecilie Ting Mortensen had five saves to post a shutout.
• Hemans also had five saves, but took her first loss as a Buccaneers.
