Baseball Loses Finale To Falcons

Bucs fall 15-7

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers fell 15-7 to the Montevallo Falcons in the finale of a three-game series at Feinbloom Field on Sunday.

SUMMARY:

  • T2 - Tyler Krabbe and Sebastian Samuels hit back-to-back homers to lead off the second inning. | Montevallo 2, Barry 0
  • T4 - The Falcons send 11 men to the plate, hit two more homers, and scored eight runs. Ryan Brooks had a two-run homer and Samuels hit a three-run shot. | Montevallo 10, Barry 0
  • T5 - Brooks was hit by a pitch to lead off the innings and scored on a double by Khari Anderson. | Montevallo 11, Barry 0
  • B5 - Justin Lamazares hit a two-run homer, scoring Arrison Perez, who had led off with a double. | Montevallo 11, Barry 2
  • T7 - Jake Morris and Anderson had base hits to lead off the inning and promptly stole second and third. Jason Cryar drove in both runners with a single to left center. Krabbe followed with a two-run homer. Montevallo 15, Barry 2
  • B7 - JC Garcia walked and Freddie Matos bounced a single up the middle. Reuben Pino drove in Garcia with a base hit to left and Chris Cabrera poked a three-run homer out to left. | Montevallo 15, Barry 6
  • B9 - Cabrera doubled with one out and moved up to third on a wild pitch. He scored on a ground out by Deyvid Silva. | Montevallo 15, Barry 7

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Gus Cunningham (2-3) picked just his second win of the season. He worked five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk.
  • Erislandy Rives (3-1) suffered hit first loss, allowing four runs on six hits. All four runs came on three homers.
  • Cryar, Krabbe and Samuels each drove in four runs for the Falcons.
  • Cabrera was 3-for-5 with a homer, double and three RBI. Lamazares was 2-for-3 with a double, homer and two RBI for the Bucs.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs play their Easter series on the road at Rollins this coming Thursday and Friday.
