WINTER PARK, Fla, -- The Barry Buccaneers hammered out an 8-1 win over the Rollins Tars in the first game of their Sunshine State Conference baseball series at Alfond Stadium on Thursday.

NOTEWORTHY:
- Pablo Arevalo (6-4) posted an outstanding start on the mound for the Bucs. He worked six innings, allowing just one run on seven hits and a walk and struck out three.
- Amilcar Yanez worked the final three innings, without allowing a run, to earn his first save. He allowed just one hit and one walk and struck out two.
- Cameron Enck (5-3) was saddled with the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits and five walks in 4.2 innings. He threw 106 pitches, striking out five.
- Sobalvarro led the Bucs at the plate, going 3-for-5 with the two homers and three RBI. He also scored three runs.
- Garcia was 3-for-4, with a walk and hit by pitch to reach base five of his six plate appearances in the lead off spot for the Bucs.
- Cabrera and Perez each drove in a pair of runs, with Cabrera also scoring twice.
- Brendan Brundage had two hits to lead the Tars.
