MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers weathered a chilly night at Feinbloom Field as they clipped the Chestnut Hill Griffins 4-1 in baseball action on Thursday.

After a sacrifice, Derek Smolenski bounced a single up the middle to score Cabrera, advancing to second on the throw. NOTEWORTHY:
- Frank II Gonzalez (3-0) tossed 7.2 innings, allowing one run on six hits and a walk and striking out four. He threw 97 pitches, 73 for strikes.
- Hugo Casilla allowed one hit in a scoreless ninth for his fifth save.
- Bethel worked a complete game, allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks. He also hit three batters and had a balk that scored a run.
- Diaz led Barry at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
- Jared Healey led the Griffins with two hits, including a double. Amier Uzzell also had two hits.
