Baseball Swept By #1 Tampa

Bucs swept at home for the first time this season

MIAMI SHORES, Fla, -- The 20th-ranked Barry Buccaneers were swept 12-4 and 4-1 by the top-ranked Tampa Spartans on Saturday at Feinbloom Field.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Mason Duke (7-0) worked seven innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk. He struck out five.
  • Pablo Arevalo (4-2) took the loss in game one for the Bucs. He allowed eight runs (three earned) on seven hits and three walks in 4.1 innings.
  • Tanner Foster (3-2) worked six scoreless innings, scattering four hits and three walks to get the won in the nightcap. Tyler Beck closed out the last three innings, allowing just Matos' homer, to earn his fifth save.
  • Myles Gayman (2-2) took the loss. He allowed four runs on seven hits and five walks in 4.2 innings. 
  • Diaz went 4-for-8 with two doubles and scored twice in the twin bill for the Bucs. Perez drove in three runs.
