Women's Tennis Fights Off Flagler

The Buccaneer women's tennis team swept Flagler 7-0

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The top-ranked Buccaneer women's tennis team delivered on expectations and dominated their way to a 6-0 victory over Flagler College on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Buccaneer Tennis Complex in Miami Shores, Fla.

The returners from last year's national championship team mixed in with the spring's newcomers gave the Bucs the perfect fusion of talent to kick off the season. Jil Engelmann recorded a superb performance on the courts today, displaying skill and touch on her way to a 6-1 6-1 singles victory and a 6-4 doubles victory with Eleonore Barrere. Verena Schmid and Zuza Maciejewska picked up where they left off in the fall, winning their duo match 6-3.
