ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The men's basketball team fell 78-66 to the Eckerd Tritons on Saturday in the McArthur Center in Sunshine State Conference play. It was the first loss to the Tritons in St. Petersburg since 2016.

SUMMARY:
- First Half - The game went back and forth early. Barry took a 15-11 on a free throw by Tylan Birts with 12:46. But the Tritons ran off 10 straight points, including five by Shaquille Harris to go up 21-15 and never trailed the rest of the way. | Eckerd 41, Barry 32
- Second Half - Trailing 46-32 with over 18:30 to play, the Bucs went on a 14-4 run, capped by a Milon Sheffield three-pointer, to cut the lead to four, 50-46 with 12:02 to play. But Eckerd responded with a 12-4 run of their own over the next four minutes to push the lead back to double-figures, 62-50, and the Bucs never got closer than 10 the rest of the way.
NOTEWORTHY:
- The Bucs got off 11 more shots than the Tritons, thanks to 16 offensive rebounds, but hit just 36.4 percent from the floor and just 4-for-29 from three-point range.
- Daniel Mortensen led the Bucs with 15 points and five rebounds. Isaiah Hobbs added 11 points and five boards.
- Drushaun McLaurn led the Tritons with 18 points. Marco Behori added 16 points and Marquis Gilbert had 14.
