INSIDE THE MATCHUP
Final: Barry 89, Florida National 74
Records: Barry (8-15), Florida National (10-16)
All-Time Series: Barry leads 1-0

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:

"One of the things we really wanted to concentrate on was making the extra pass, being unselfish. I think we did that today with 21 assists on 31 field goals. FNU has had some very close games, losing to Palm Beach Atlantic by five and Lynn by just four. So overall, I was really please with the way we played."  -- Barry head coach Bill Sullivan

SUMMARY:

  • 1Q - Barry got off to a quick start, leading 10-4 after the first three minutes. The Conquistadors rallied back to get to within one point, 12-11, on a layup by Madeleine McTague with 4:35 left in the period. Barry pushed it back to six points on a three-pointer by Harriet Swindells, before settling for a four-point advantage | Barry 21, FNU 17
  • 2Q - The game got away from the Conquistadors in the second quarter. Down 23-19 with 8:14 in the period, FNU head coach earned three consecutive technical fouls, getting ejected and Melanie Jordan converted all six free throws and Emma Hergot had a basket to complete an eight-point swing to make the lead 31-19. Jordan hit a three-pointer with 6:01 remaining to give Barry a double-figure lead that they never relinquished. | Barry 54, FNU 35
  • 3Q - Barry pushed the lead to 20 points, 72-53 on a three-pointer by Treanna Lawson with 1:58 left in the third and Barry closed the period on a 10-0 run. | Barry 77, FNU 52
