Basketball Travels To Lynn On Wednesday

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Both the men's and women's basketball teams will travel to Lynn on Wednesday for a Sunshine State Conference showdown. The women's game starts at 5:30 pm and the men follow at 7:30 pm.

Women's Basketball - Wednesday, Dec. 4; 5:30 pm; de Hoernle Center

The Bucs (1-4, 0-1 SSC) off a pair of losses to regionally ranked teams at the Cesar Odio Classic. The Bucs fell 60-41 to Alaska-Anchorage (3rd in the West Region) and 78-69 to Daemen (10th in the West Region). Junior guard Harriett Swindells leads the team at 17.0 points per game, shooting 32.7 percent from three-point range. JuniorNichel Tampa chips in 14.4 points, 5-4 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. Junior Emma Hergot leads the team at 7.6 rebounds, while adding 7.0 points per game.

The Knights (3-4, 0-1 SSC) defeated Alaska-Anchorage 53-52 last Wednesday. Junior guard Jaylen Snipes leads the Knights at 10.5 points and 3.1 assists per game. Junior guard Christina Potts is second at 9.7 points per game. Sophomore forward Kelsi Fizer leads the team in rebounding at 6.6 per game.

Men's Basketball - Wednesday, Dec. 4; 7:30 pm; de Hoernle Center

The men (4-2, 0-1 SSC) are coming off a win over Florida Memorial 85-77 last Wednesday. Senior forward Tylan Birts leads the Bucs with 16.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. Junior guard Jake Kakar chips in 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Leandro Allende also tops double firgures at 10.2 points per game. David Moya leads the team with 4.8 assists per game and a 2.9:1 assist:turnover ratio. 

The Knights (4-0, 1-0 SSC) beat Clayton State 92-85 on Friday and have topped 90 points in each of their last three games. Junior guards Jordan Allen and Christian Peevy lead the Knights at 23.0 and 22.8 points per game respectively. They also top the squad in rebounding with Peevy raking in 7.8 per game and Allen 7.0. Senior guard Darius Moore leads the team with 5.0 assists per game.
