ATLANTA, GA. – Junior guard Jake Kakar's 25 points led the BarryU men's hoops team to a 75-67 victory over Clark-Atlanta on the road during the Bucs' 2019-20 season opener. 

SUMMARY:

• The Buccaneers went into the half with a three point lead despite shooting under 30 percent. Kakar led all scorers with 10 points on 4-for-10 shooting, scoring five points in the last 1:28 of the half. Barry took a 12-0 run into the locker room after Leandro Allende tipped-in a Milon Sheffield missed layup at the buzzer. 
• Barry was much better offensively, shooting 51 percent from the field. Kakar continued making shots in the second half with 15 points on 3-for-4 shooting behind-the-arc. Timely free throws by David Moya and Kakar put the game away for the Bucs with under a minute remaining in the game. 

• Tylan Birts recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.  
• The Buccaneers have won their season-opener in the last eight seasons. 

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs will play their home opener on Thursday, November 14 against Staten Island. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.
