MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Sailfish put up a mighty defensive effort, but eventually crumbled in the face of the unrelenting attack of the Buccaneers as Barry defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 1-0 at Buccaneer Field in Sunshine State Conference women's soccer action on Tuesday night.

SUMMARY:
- 82:13 - Sofia de la Punete passed the ball from the middle to Sarah Wignall on the left wing. Wignall took a touch inside and ripped a blast from 24 yards out over the head of Sailfish keeper Madison Chiola.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Barry out-shot the Sailfish 18-8, including 10-3 on goal, although PBA missed several chances on nearly empty nets.
- Maddie Hart-Pomerantz had three saves to post her league-leading seventh shutout.
- Chiola had nine saves, but eventually conceded the game-winner to Wignall.
- With the win and the Rollins 3-0 loss to Nova Southeastern, the Bucs clinched a first-round bye for the SSC Tournament starting next week. The Bucs will host a semifinal game on Thursday, Nov. 14 with the opponent to be determined.
