CLEVELAND -- The 2018 fall season was very good to Barry University athletics as the Bucs compiled 200 points and finished the season ranked eighth in the Learfield Directors' Cup final fall standings.

All three of the Buccaneers' fall sports (men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball) earned bids to the NCAA Tournament. The women's soccer and volleyball teams both tied for 17th nationally, bowing out in the second round of their respective tournaments to each earn 50 points. The men's soccer team went on to claim the program's first national championship and the 100 points for the title.

All three fall sports received bids to the NCAA Tournament in the same season for the first time since 2003. The 200 points in the fall broke the mark of 195 set in 2000, although the scoring structure changed in 2012-13 and again in 2017-18. For NCAA Division II scoring, a maximum of 15 sports can be used, four of which must be men's basketball, baseball, women's basketball and volleyball.

The Bucs have been a force in the spring season, finishing in the top three in the division in the spring season five times in the last seven years.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
