MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Barry University soccer team suffered their first defeat of the 2018 season on Saturday night. The Bucs faced the undefeated Carson-Newman Eagles in Chattanooga, Tennessee and came up short in a 1-2 loss.

SUMMARY:
	- 38th minute - Carson-Newman's Jonny Le Quesne took the pass from Ashley Kelynack for the tap-in into the right side of the net for his first goal of the season. The goal was Kelynack's first assist on the year.
 
	- 46th minute - The Eagle extend the lead to two-nil with a top-of-the-box shot from Ashley Kelynack, assisted by Tobias Solem Karlsen. 
 
	- 83rd minute - Barry tried to rally late with James Kirkman filling the lane on a through-ball pass from Ander Urkidi to knock in a goal, but unfortunately for the Bucs there just wasn't enough time to comeback. 
 
NOTEWORTHY:
	- Carson Newman out-shot Barry 17-11 and doubled Barry's shots on target with a 10-5 margin.
 
	- Marco Sordi kept Barry in the game for most of the contest, saving eight shots.
 
ON THE HORIZON:
Barry doesn't need to travel as far for their next contest as they stay in Miami to take on Saint Thomas University in Miami Gardens on September 12th.
