MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers used a rocket from Francisco Greco in overtime to knock off the Choctaws of Mississippi College on Saturday night at Buccaneer Field.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP
Final: Barry 2, Mississippi College 1
Records:Â Barry (2-0-0); Mississippi College (1-1-0)
All-Time Series: Barry leads 2-0-1
SUMMARY:
- 68:09 - Ander Urkidi got on the board for the second straight game to give the Bucs a lead in the 69th minute. MC keeper Keaton Halbert, who played an overall excellent game, made a very poor goal kick that was intercepted by Amponsah Asamoah at the top of the 18-yard box. Asamoah fed the ball to James Kirkham who found Urkidi at the far post. Urkidi slotted his shot right past Halbert.
- 83:12 - The Choctaws got the equalizer, quite against the run of play, on only their third shot of the night. Andy Alanis got loose on the right side and sent a cross into the box. Wanner Paiz was able to get his head on the ball and knock it past Marco Sordi in goal.
- 93:31 - The Bucs scored the golden goal in the 94th minute. Again the Choctaws gave the ball away in the back and MArtin Lozano fed Greco at 26 yards. Greco, without hesitation, rifled a shot toward the upper right-hand corner that just glanced off of Halbert's fingertips and into the side netting.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Sordi gave up a goal, but made three saves, to improve to 2-0-0 on the season.
- Halbert had six saves, several of the spectacular variety, but conceded two goals to take the loss.
- Barry out-shot the Choctaws 13-11, including 8-4 on goal.
- Six cards were issued, three for each team.

The Bucs travel next weekend to play at Auburn-Montgomery on Thursday and against Carson-Newman at Baylor High in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Saturday.
