MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers rolled to 4-0 opening day win over the Delta State Statesmen at Buccaneer Field on Thursday night.

- 12:46 - Freshman defender Andreas Volk opened the scoring in the 2018 season by getting his head on a corner by fellow frosh Lucas Russo in the 13th minute.Â
- 53:10 - Transfer Flavio Colasanti found the back of the net in the 54th minute, with assists from Amponsah Asamoah and Aday Gonzalez.
- 70:27 - Ander Urkidi was fouled by DSU keeper Miguel Novo Villar just outside the box and freshman Fransisco Greco delivered a perfectly placed free kick from 19 yards.
- 87:11 - Urkidi got his goal in 88th minute. He worked a give-and-go with Ivan Barriga, blasting in the goal from 12 yards out.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Marco Sordi made the save on the only shot the Statesmen were able to put on goal, earning the clean sheet and the win.
- Novo Villar had three saves, but allowed four goals to take the loss.
- Barry out-shot DSU 21-8, 7-1 on goal, and led 9-5 in corner kicks.
- The Statesmen had three players booked for yellow cards: Nova Villar, Kormakur Thorsson and Lewis McClure.
