Bucs celebrate Senior Day tomorrow

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Buccaneer softball opened their final regular season home series with a victory against Embry-Riddle Friday night on Buccaneer Softball Field, winning 1-0.

SUMMARY:

  • B5: The Bucs scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. Lynsey Duncan hit a sacrifice fly to to center field, scoring Sam Busekrus from third. Busekrus tripled a couple batters earlier to get herself in the perfect position to do just that. Barry 1 | Embry 0
  • T7: The Eagles had one last chance to tie the game up with runners on first and third. However, a heads up play from Geneva Santos to field the ball grounded to her and throw it over to Peyton Rawls at first base for the final out saved the win. Barry 1 | Embry 0

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Geneva Santos (9-14) won game one of the series for Barry, allowing just five hits and zero runs through seven innings.
  • Ilona Andringa (19-10) dropped the opening game for the Eagles, giving up one run and five hits in six innings.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs wrap up the series against Embry-Riddle tomorrow at 12 and 2 p.m. on Buccaneer Softball Field. Tomorrow will also be Senior Day for the Barry.
