MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Buccaneer softball fell to the Eagles of Embry-Riddle Saturday afternoon, dropping two extremely close games in its final home series of the 2018 season.

Game 1
- T3: The Eagles struck first in game one of the doubleheader, when Katy Thompson singled up the middle, scoring Maggie Scott. Embry 1 | Barry 0
- B3: The classic double steal was a success in the third for the Bucs, as they were able to score Brittany Phillips from third to tie the game. Barry 1 | Embry 1
- B4: Anieliese Palmiero homered to left field in the fourth to take the one-run lead for the Bucs. Barry 2 | Embry 1
- T5: The Eagles regained the lead in the fifth with three more runs. Destiny Carroll and Thompson each had RBI singles. Embry 4 | Barry 2
- B6: Phillips doubled to right field for Barry in the sixth, scoring Taylor Randazzo, but it wasn't enough as the Eagles held on to take game one of the doubleheader. Embry 4 | Barry 3

- T2: Embry-Riddle scored first again for the second time today, when Carroll brought in Peqe Lopez with an RBI single. Embry 1 | Barry 0
- B5: Barry tied the game up 1-1 in the fifth. Madison VonHagel doubled to left field, scoring Lynsey Duncan from second. Barry 1 | Embry 1
- T7: An error by the Barry defense allowed Lisa Hop to score the game-winning run from third. Embry 2 | Barry 1
NOTEWORTHY:
- Christie Falcon (11-10) took the loss in game one for the Bucs, giving up 12 hits and four runs in seven innings.
- Jayla jackson (8-3) won game one for the Eagles, conceding just four hits and two runs in four innings.
- Lisa Hop (1) grabbed her first save in game one, allowing just two hits and one run to preserve the win for Embry-Riddle.
- Geneva Santos (9-15) was dealt the loss in game two, giving up 10 hits and two runs to the Eagles in seven innings of work.
- Ilona Andringa (20-10) won game two for the Eagles, allowing nine hits and one run in seven innings.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs conclude their season next Friday and Saturday on the road, as they travel to Winter Park, Fla. to take on the Rollins Tars.
