ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Barry University's softball team beat the Tritons from Eckerd College Friday night, to take game one of the conference series, winning 6-4 in extra innings.

- T4: Lynsey Duncan doubled down the right field line, scoring Anieliese Palmeiro and Madison VonHagel to take the two-run lead in the first. Catie Falcon followed with a RBI-single to left field, scoring Duncan to increase the lead to three runs. Barry 3 | Eckerd 0
- B5: Eckerd's Crystal Garcia doubled to right field in the fifth, scoring three runs to knot the game at 3-3. Barry 3 | Eckerd 3
- B6: Kayelee Newstrom singled up the middle to score one run, and take the lead for the first time in the game for the Tritons. Eckerd 4 | Barry 3
- T7: Alayna Gallagher was able to tag up and score the tying run for the Bucs in the seventh, thanks to a sacrifice fly to center field by Palmiero. Barry 4 | Eckerd 4
- T8: Ca. Falcon came up big in the seventh to bat in the game-winning run. Duncan was able to score on Falcon's hit up the middle to take the lead, and Taylor Randazzo also came around to score on an error by the center fielder. Barry 6 | Eckerd 4
NOTEWORTHY:
- Geneva Santos (7-14) allowed seven hits and four runs in eight innings, picking up the win for the Bucs in game one of the conference series.
- Janna Gaburo (2-5) took the loss for the Tritons, after giving up three hits and three runs in 2.2 innings of work.
- Ca. Falcon and Duncan each went 2-3 on the night with two RBI's a piece.
- Barry's Peyton Rawls had an impressive 3-4 night at the plate.
ON THE HORIZON:
Barry will try to take the series with another win or two tomorrow afternoon as they conclude the conference series with the Tritons at Turley Complex.
