MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 2-ranked women's tennis team shut out Division I Georgetown, 5-0, Thursday.
The Buccaneers needed wins at the Nos. 2 and 5 singles positions to clinch the match after sweeping doubles play.

DOUBLES:
- Barry's 14th-ranked duo of Sonja Larsen and Verena Schmid beat Casey Marx and Anna Short, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles.
- At No. 2 doubles, Zuza Maciejewska and Carolin Schmidt defeated Cecilia Lynham and Drew Spinosa, 8-3.
- Julie Razafindranaly and Hannah Seizer beat Sophie Henderson and Sydney Goodson, 8-4, at No. 3 doubles.
SINGLES:
- Top-ranked Larsen rolled past Goodson, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.
- Razafindranaly defeated Short, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 5.
- Barry led in two of the remaining four singles matches that were unfinished.Â
NOTEWORTHY:
- It is Barry's second win over a Division I opponent this season.
- Larsen moved within three singles victories of the school's career record. She has 71 in her four-year career.
- Maciejewska was back in the lineup for the first time since Feb. 25.
ON THE HORIZON:
Barry will host another Division I opponent, Cleveland State, Wednesday at 3 p.m.
