Barry University's second-ranked men's tennis team beat Division I Georgetown, 5-1, Thursday at Buccaneer Tennis Center. It was the answer to Monday's 5-2 loss to No. 8 Lander.

DOUBLES:
- Barry's Fernando Tous and Filip Zupancic picked up the first point with an 8-2 win over Peter Beatty and Mac Rechan at the No. 1 position.
- Pierre Montrieul and Blake Bayldon defeated Ian Witmer and Marco Lam, 8-3, at No. 2.
- Georgetown's lone point came at No. 3 doubles, where Will Sharton and Charlie Sharton beat Carlos Gomez and Vivien Versier, 9-7.
SINGLES:
- Daniel Ventura gave Barry a 3-1 lead when he defeated Mark Militzer, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 2 singles.
- Versier beat Luke Ross, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 4 singles to make it 4-1.
- Flavio Matteoli secured the victory with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Michael Chen at No. 6 singles.
- Barry led in the other three unfinished singles matches.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Zupancic paired with Tous for the first time this year. He has played with three different partners this year.Â
- Gomez and Versier were paired together for the first time this season.
- This was the first of three straight matches against Division I opponents.
