Clermont, Fla. -- Barry University's softball team split a pair of games in the opening day of play at the Spring Games, rolling over Ursuline 9-0, but dropping game two to Trevecca 5-2.

Game 1
- T1: Barry got the bats rolling early in the game, tallying up seven runs in the first inning. Geneva Santos started the scoring stretch with a two-RBI single to left field. Catie Falcon found the same side of the field a couple batters later with a single of her own, scoring Santos, and Kristina Osorio scored on a throwing error by the Ursuline outfielder on the same play. Same Busekrus and Alayna Gallagher combined for three more RBI with hits to left field with runners on to increase the lead to seven runs. Barry 7 | Ursuline 0
- T3: Gallagher came back in the third to single again, scoring Busekrus for the second time in three innings. Anieliese Palmeiro put away the Arrows with a final RBI single to increase Barry's lead to nine. The mercy rule was in full affect as the Bucs held off Ursuline through five complete innings with an eight or more run lead. Barry 9 | Ursuline 0
Game 2
- B2: Peyton Rawls took Barry's second early lead on the day with an RBI single to left field, scoring Taylor Checkley. Barry 1 | Trevecca 0
- B3: Osorio scored her second run of the day as she homered to center field, increasing the Bucs' lead to two runs. Barry 2 | Trevecca 0
- T4: Tana Whited got the Trojans on the board, scoring on an error by the Barry defense. Barry 2 | Trevecca 1
- T5: Trevecca's Whited bounced back big in the fifth with a grand slam to put the Trojans up by three in the fifth. Trevecca 5 | Barry 2
NOTEWORTHY:
- Christie Falcon (4-5) picked up a huge win in game one, allowing just five hits through five innings.
- Gina Rosshirt (2-4) gave up nine hits and nine runs, taking the loss for Ursuline in game one of the day.
- Savannah Carr (3-1) grabbed the win in game two on the day, giving up five runs and two runs.
- Morgan Powell (1) picked up her first save of the season for Trevecca, holding the Bucs to just two hits.
- Geneva Santos (3-7) took the loss for Barry, giving up five hits and three runs to the Trojans.
